I work at the intersection of design, craftsmanship, culture, and private client relationships.
My practice translates complex briefs, personal narratives, and brand values into distinctive experiences; from one-of-one commissions and material expressions to broader questions of identity, environment, and experience. I bring a designer’s sensitivity to detail together with the strategic perspective required to shape creative direction, align stakeholders, and build experiences that strengthen both brand and business.

Bespoke Practice

How a commission is found

Clients almost never arrive with a brief. They arrive with a memory, a house, a colour they cannot name, a person they are trying to honour. My first work is observation — sitting with someone long enough to feel what is actually being asked for, underneath what is being said.

What follows is translation. A story becomes a proportion, a grain direction, a stitch, a coordinate. It has to survive the loss of its caption: the object should hold the meaning without anyone present to explain it.

The result is a true one of one — rare because it could only have been theirs, not because of what was selected from a list.

I was born in Korea and arrived in the United States at ten, into Detroit — a city that builds things and has never romanticised the work. Both facts still shape how I design.

I trained in automotive design there, practising interior and exterior alike, which is why I still think about an object whole rather than in parts. Germany sharpened the precision. Los Angeles taught me light, appetite, and how taste performs in public. A period in technology sales, between studios, taught me more about sitting across from a person deciding whether to trust you than any design course could.

Today I am the first and only bespoke designer in Rolls-Royce Motor Cars' Private Office in New York, working face to face with clients from the first conversation through to handover.

The through-line is not automotive. It is the practice of reading a person closely and building something that could only belong to them.
